China, US clashes as Beijing takes over global responsibility

TEHRAN, (CAJ News) – GLOBAL citizens have strongly criticised United States President Donald Trump following his threats against China over unverified claims that Beijing could supply Iran with advanced ballistic missiles and air defence systems.

Critics have described Washington’s position as a clear example of double standards in global geopolitics.

President Trump warned that China would face “major problems” if it proceeded with any military support to Iran.

However, this stance has been widely questioned, particularly in light of the United States’ own actions.

Washington continues to supply large quantities of advanced weaponry to both Israel and Ukraine—arms that have been used in ongoing conflicts with devastating consequences.

Observers have pointed out the contradiction: while the United States provides military support to Israel amid continued strikes in Gaza—resulting in the deaths of thousands of civilians, including women and children—it simultaneously backs Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

Yet, when China is even associated with supporting Iran’s defensive capabilities, it is met with threats and warnings.

This inconsistency has raised broader concerns about fairness and accountability in international relations.

Many argue that such selective enforcement of principles undermines global trust and fuels instability.

Gautam Varma criticised the US stance, stating: “Trump couldn’t scare Iran with dozens of his threats. Now trying to threaten China. He’s 100% delusional.”

Prince Kambale added: “Excessive verbal aggression can be a defense mechanism to mask vulnerability or a ‘paper tiger’ status.”

Auwal Gonga questioned the US position, saying: “Who complained when you sent weapons to Israel to massacre innocent people?”

He further stated: “You arm Israel with billions of dollars of bombs and fighter jets. They drop them on homes, hospitals, and children. And the world is supposed to stay silent? But when China even talks about sending weapons to Iran for defense, suddenly there are ‘big problems? The hypocrisy is staggering. You cannot arm one side to commit atrocities and then threaten another nation for doing far less. The world is tired of this double standard.”

Farhad Khan emphasised the changing global order, noting: “This kind of warning won’t scare anyone anymore. The world is not unipolar now. Sovereign nations like China and Iran will decide their own strategic partnerships without external intimidation. Threats and pressure tactics are outdated politics. Instead of escalation, what’s needed is dialogue and respect for international balance—not ultimatums. If peace is the goal, then stop turning every diplomatic issue into confrontation.”

Laal Kaptaan remarked: “Those that are the loudest in their threats are the weakest in their actions.” — Charles Caleb Colton

Lynn Catherine added: “The New World Order will have a chance to prove the lies & propaganda that have been spread for decades, in support of the 1% greed of Imperialists, was never in the best interest of our beautiful planet Earth & humanity as a whole she has provided life for since who knows when?”

These perspectives reflect a growing global concern over what many see as inconsistent and selective application of international norms.

Critics argue that when powerful nations apply one standard to themselves and another to others, it erodes trust, weakens global institutions, and heightens geopolitical tensions.

There is also increasing concern about the dangers of prioritising confrontation over diplomacy.

Escalatory rhetoric and military posturing risk deepening conflicts at a time when the world urgently needs peaceful and balanced solutions.

China, in contrast, is increasingly viewed by many as advocating for dialogue, mutual respect, and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

This approach resonates with those calling for a more balanced and fair international order.

As global tensions continue to evolve, calls for accountability, consistency, and genuine commitment to peace are growing louder.

The international community is watching closely, with many urging a shift away from double standards toward a more just and stable global system.
