ACCRA, (CAJ News) – BRITISH cruiserweight contender Lawrence Okolie delivered an emphatic victory over Ghana’s Ebenezer Tetteh, securing a stoppage win in their non-title heavyweight bout on April 5, 2026, in London.

The fight, held at the iconic O2 Arena, marked Okolie’s continued transition into the heavyweight division after his successful run at cruiserweight.

While no championship belt was on the line, the bout carried significant importance for Okolie’s ambitions of climbing the heavyweight rankings.

From the opening bell, Okolie imposed his physical advantages, using his height and reach to keep Tetteh at bay.

The Ghanaian fighter showed resilience and moments of aggression, attempting to close the distance with looping hooks. However, Okolie’s disciplined jab and sharp right hand consistently disrupted Tetteh’s rhythm.

By the middle rounds, the British boxer had firmly taken control. His power punches began to wear Tetteh down, forcing the referee to monitor the action closely.

In the later stages, Okolie unleashed a sustained offensive, backing Tetteh onto the ropes with a barrage of heavy shots.

The end came when the referee stepped in to stop the contest, with Tetteh unable to effectively defend himself.

The stoppage confirmed Okolie’s superiority on the night and highlighted his growing confidence at heavyweight.

Although not a title fight, the victory positions Okolie as a serious contender in the division.

For Tetteh, the loss underscores the challenge of facing elite opposition but also reflects his toughness and determination.

Overall, the bout showcased Okolie’s evolving skill set and power, signaling that he could soon be in contention for major heavyweight honors if he continues on this trajectory.
