JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE MTN Group has hailed its emergence as the most valuable African brand for the 13th consecutive year at the Brand Finance Africa awards.
The telecommunications company thanked the people, communities and markets that continued to place their trust in it.
“This recognition reflects the work of MTNers across our markets, and the responsibility we carry to keep connecting people, businesses and communities with care and purpose,” MTN stated.
It described itself as a pan-African digital operator committed to helping unlock the continent’s potential.
“Our purpose is leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress.”
South African banking, telecommunications and retail brands dominate the regional top ten.
MTN retained its title ahead of Vodacom and Standard Bank.
Tusker emerged as the strongest brand with a score of 97.9/100 and an AAA+ brand strength rating.
Seplat Energy’s brand value doubled, and it was named Africa’s fastest-growing brand.
M-PESA sets the benchmark for engagement among African brands.
MTN currently operates in 16 African markets, connecting more than 300 million subscribers across the continent.
